"At the core of my practice is an exploration of the human landscape, shaped by memory, identity, possessions, and technology. I create paintings and mixed media works that reveal the tension between intimacy and disconnection in our digital age. As an immigrant and former software engineer in Silicon Valley, I draw on two contrasting
material cultures: my upbringing in post–Cultural Revolution China, where every object was cherished and repaired, and life in the United States, where abundance and disposability dominate. My Commodity series considers objects as vessels of memory and identity, while my figurative works capture intimate moments where presence is shadowed by absence, and connection is mediated by screens. These works reflect on what we consume and why, what we treasure, and what is lost along the way. My
practice invites viewers to consider not only the things we hold, but also the systems, screens, and silences that hold us in return."
